College Football Recruiting Winners: Texas A&M, Notre Dame, LSU Dominate June (2026)

Three college football recruiting 'winners' that dominated the month of June on the trail

As the summer heat rises, so does the intensity of college football recruiting. With official visits winding down, teams and recruits are getting a clearer picture of their future in the 2027 cycle. And while there are always winners and losers in this game, I thought it would be fun to highlight three programs that dominated the trail in June.

Texas A&M Aggies: Pulling off a prime Nick Saban-level recruiting class, the Aggies are on a roll. With a staggering six composite five-stars, they reeled in two top-50 prospects in June alone. Another top-50 player, Frederick Ards III, is also in the mix. Ninety-eight percent of programs would be happy with two top-50 players in a single cycle, but the Aggies are doing it with style. And it's not just about the numbers; the Aggies are also making waves with their commitment from a top-50 prospect just two days ago. This run shows that A&M is the clear favorite this year.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish: The Irish are no strangers to success, and their June haul only solidifies their status as a top program. With two five-star players along the line of scrimmage and a top-100 wide receiver, they boast arguably the best offensive line class in the country. Their ability to squeeze every drop of talent from the Midwest and Northeast is impressive. After signing a top-five class last cycle, the Irish are looking to one-up their efforts and currently hold the silver medal spot in 2027. Their complete class and June success make them a strong contender.

LSU Tigers: The Tigers are making a vertical climb in the 2027 recruiting rankings, and it's all thanks to their new head coach, Lane Kiffin, and the addition of former head coach and recruiting wizard Ed Orgeron to their staff. Despite an initial rough start with a five-star edge prospect flipping to Miami, the Tigers responded with a bang. They landed two top-100 edge rushers, Chris Whitehead and K.J. Green, and two four-star running backs, Trey Martin and David Segara. The Tigers are also in prime position to flip two elite five-star prospects, wide receiver Easton Royal and defensive tackle Jaden Brewster, from Texas and Texas Tech, respectively. Their hard work behind the scenes is paying off, and they are now a force to be reckoned with.

In my opinion, these three programs have shown exceptional talent acquisition and strategy in June. The Aggies' early momentum and the Irish's complete class make them strong contenders for the top spot. Meanwhile, the Tigers' response to early setbacks and their potential flips showcase their resilience and determination. As the recruiting trail heats up, these teams are setting the bar high and will undoubtedly be contenders for the national championship.
