Both Human and Divine

Written By,

2 Timothy 2:15 King James Version (KJV)

”15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

It is amazing how opportunity presents the chance to hear from God based on the need of someone else desiring to know God the more. Tonight was one of those nights. ”Both Human and Divine.”

Please allow me to define two words from our subject, ”Human and Divine.”

Human by definition…> ”relating to or characteristic of people or human beings.”

Divine by definition…> ”religion – a: of, relating to, or proceeding directly from God (see 1god 1) or a god (see 1god 2) divine inspiration divine love praying for divine intervention

Please consider the definition of divine, it’s not saying Jesus was not the same substance of God. It suggests what the word of God declares in; Philippians 2:7-10 King James Version (KJV)

”7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” Thus the definition in the spiritual connection is correct.

The truth of Gods word must be demonstrated by the spirit of God to reveal Gods will to those that believe in his name.

John 13 King James Version (KJV)

13 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.

2 And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him;

18 I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me. (Divine)

19 Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he. (Human)

20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. (Divine)

21 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. Here the application takes on a spiritual duality of understanding. Here the witness is of both natures of humanity and divinity.

”One of you will betray me. Jesus was the incarnated word of God. He was the Godman, thus he is able to declare that one would betray the word of God based on what was written before the life of Christ.”

24 Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake.

25 He then lying on Jesus’ breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it? This is important – only God can decern the heart.

26 Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.

27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.

28 Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him. (humanity without the spirit does not know the things of God.) ”Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him

29 For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.

30 He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night.

31 Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him.

32 If God is glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him.

Let us examine the human side of God in the flesh giving over to his divine character.

2 Corinthians 5:19 King James Version (KJV)

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”

At one point the human aspect of God wanted to stand against the divine call of the father.

Matthews 26:39 (KJV)

”Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”

1 Timothy 3:16 King James Version (KJV)

”16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”

Let us share in the prophetic word of declaration

Deuteronomy 6:4-15 King James Version (KJV)

”4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:

5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.”

The gospel writer of St. John verify this spiritual understanding

John 1 King James Version (KJV)

”1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. Him here denotes a pro-noun a particular person, place, or Thing. (Jesus the Christ.)

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Therefore, allow us to close with two references from the word of God that reflect Christ being human and divine.

Revelation 5 King James Version (KJV)

  • 5 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
  • 2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?
  • 3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
  • 4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.
  • 5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
  • 6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

Colossians 2 King James Version (KJV)

9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
