Streams in the desert

As we grow in our walk of faith there will be times where the impossible seems to be our reality – the enemies job is to keep your mind in a state of confusion, and a state of uncertainty. I know at times how difficult it can be – See I’ve seen the spirit of satan up close and personal. I know his purpose is to kill, steal, and destroy – he does not want your body, he’s after your mind. If he can place your mind in a desert reality, he wins. “Streams in the desert”

Allow me to explain the conditions of a desert – it is a type of wilderness!

Deserts are famous for having the hottest temperatures on Earth. But what makes it so hot in a desert? Deserts occur where there is a lack of moisture and thus an abundance of sunlight. With the relative lack in moisture, there is less evaporation.

Plants and animals with toxic components also present dangers to humans in deserts. Euphorbias that grow in African deserts have caustic, milky sap that can cause temporary or permanent blindness.

Cacti native to North and South American deserts have fierce spines that cause painful punctures and lacerations. Venomous creatures such as snakes, scorpions, spiders and lizards inhabit deserts; their bite or sting can cause human illness or death.

In Africa, hordes of desert locusts destroy vast areas of natural vegetation and croplands. In the American Southwest, a pathogenic, soil-borne fungus causes the disease called valley fever or coccidioidomycosis, which can be fatal.

Tiny, biting sand flies occur during rainy seasons in both Old World and New World deserts. They carry a serious disease called leishmaniasis, which is a significant health threat to U.S. military personnel deployed to areas such as the Middle East, Afghanistan and Africa.

Without the access of water in the desert it’s most likely that one will die because of the elements –

The enemy’s job is to place you in a position of despair, without hope, and most of all, he desires that you give up!!! –

Here’s what happens to the human body in a desert without the natural sources of life

Dehydration happens quickly, causing extreme thirst, fatigue, and ultimately, organ failure and death. A person may go from feeling thirsty and slightly sluggish on the first day with no water to having organ failure by the third.

Jesus would not place you anywhere without hope – Child of God, even in a desert situation you have hope – I know it seems tough, I know you seem alone, I know things are shutting down and you want to quit – hold on, “You will find a stream in the desert”

1 John 5:4-6 NIV

4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

Keep the faith hold on, hold on I know it’s hot I know it’s Unbearable I know it’s dark, I know you are reaching for help and know one comes – keep moving don’t lay down. “God will provide a stream in the desert

Hebrews 11:1 KJV

“1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Our faith is developed from the intimate relationship with the word of God

In times of despair this is when the word of God stands up in us an says, You won’t die keep going, God will provide a stream in the desert –

Turn and share with me words of faith –

Isaiah 43:19-21 KJV

“19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

20 The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.

21 This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.”

Allow the word of God to minister to you, Jesus did –

Mark 1:13 (KJV)

“And he/Jesus was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.”
