He knew all the time

The narrative of the word of God is conducive with each following dispensation – I truly understand the word of God when He states that there is nothing new under the Sun. God’s direction is opposite of mans understanding – This truth allows those with spiritual reality to see God’s word! “He knew all the time”

The narrative of King David is an amazing -truth because it exposes Gods heart like no other character in the Bible –

David was a man after God’s own heart. Consider it did not say the man Jesus heart, but God’s heart – David like Abraham an others are carriers of the spirits that must rest in the man Jesus – Abraham the righteousness of God – David he heart of God – so many others, but in this blog we want to use David and Christ – “He knew all the time.”

The worst betrayal is that if a father an Son.

So many preach an teach from the story of David and Absalom without doing a proper exegesis of the text – this is why most can’t explain repentance and atonement in Psalms 51. That’s a teaching for another time – we want to work with – ” He knew all the time.”

Let’s examine David’s family according to the natural eye – 1  The whole basis of David’s family life was flawed.

Absalom was David’s third son, the child of his fourth wife Maacah of Geshur.  She was a princess of Geshur a small Aramean Kingdom N E of the Sea of Galilee.  No doubt David’s marriage to her was to cement a political alliance.

I want to present through the word of God a compare and contrast between David and Jesus – David in his heart truly wanted to be like God but he was limited by his flesh.

He knew all the time –

  • David’s family a type of the world – completely flawed, David yet a King an Prophêt could do nothing to safe guard his family from all that they would suffer
  • Jesus in the other hand came to die for a flawed world – the families of the earth had been subject to sin through the disobedience of Adam, yet God would send His Son as sin to redeem those in sin.
  • David knew his Son would betray him – Absalom betrayal is written in the world of God – even his death, hung by his hair in a tree – it was written that it would happen –
  • Jesus too was betrayed. He to knew of this betrayal before us would take place – He said the one that kiss me will kick up his heel against me – Judas to hung in a tree – Luke 22:48 NIV

“48 but Jesus asked him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”

Jesus, “Knew all the time” Judas like Absalom was hung in a tree –

We see the comparison, let us explore how David had a heart of God – Go with us to

When you have the heart of God you know where the attack is coming from and you know why – at the same time you see how individuals suffer and instead of trying to get back your heart goes out for them, you actually feel sorry for them – let’s read! All the Absalom and Judas did there should have been no though of them after death – David should have happy to go home with the treat removed –

2 Samuel chapter 19 KJV

I’m Closing here. 1 And it was told Joab, Behold, the king weepeth and mourneth for Absalom – wait didn’t his own try to kill him, take his office, and he’s crying for him –

2 And the victory that day was turned into mourning unto all the people: for the people heard say that day how the king was grieved for his son – there is no victory in death, unless one is in the presence of the Lord –

3 And the people gat them by stealth that day into the city, as people being ashamed steal away when they flee in battle.

4 But the king covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice, O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son!

5 And Joab came into the house to the king, and said, Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy servants, which this day have saved thy life, and the lives of thy sons and of thy daughters, and the lives of thy wives, and the lives of thy concubines – the human can’t understand the things of God – this is why many play games with that which they don’t understand –

6 In that thou lovest thine enemies, and hatest thy friends. For thou hast declared this day, that thou regardest neither princes nor servants: for this day I perceive, that if Absalom had lived, and all we had died this day, then it had pleased thee well.

7 Now therefore arise, go forth, and speak comfortably unto thy servants: for I swear by the LORD, if thou go not forth, there will not tarry one with thee this night: and that will be worse unto thee than all the evil that befell thee from thy youth until now.

Doesn’t this remind of those who came against Jesus for healing on the sabbath – Someone will always be against God’s truth no matter what –

8 Then the king arose, and sat in the gate. And they told unto all the people, saying, Behold, the king doth sit in the gate. And all the people came before the king: for Israel had fled every man to his tent.

9 And all the people were at strife throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, The king saved us out of the hand of our enemies, and he delivered us out of the hand of the Philistines; and now he is fled out of the land for Absalom.

10 And Absalom, whom we anointed over us, is dead in battle. Now therefore why speak ye not a word of bringing the king back?

11 And king David sent to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, saying, Speak unto the elders of Judah, saying, Why are ye the last to bring the king back to his house? seeing the speech of all Israel is come to the king, even to his house.

12 Ye are my brethren, ye are my bones and my flesh: wherefore then are ye the last to bring back the king?

13 And say ye to Amasa, Art thou not of my bone, and of my flesh? God do so to me, and more also, if thou be not captain of the host before me continually in the room of Joab.

14 And he bowed the heart of all the men of Judah, even as the heart of one man; so that they sent this word unto the king, Return thou, and all thy servants.

See by showing compassion to the enemy you won’t loose a thing – by showing love to Absalom who went into his fathers wives in front of all Israel – making the young men run before his chariot – David show him love and his kingdom is restored – “David and Jesus knew all the time.”

Don’t get upset or play the same games as Absalom and Judas did , weep for them! Why because you knew their betrayal all the time!

David and Jesus both have testimonies after death – Absalom and Judas voices are never heard again –

Judas was deceived by his own who conspired against Christ – “According to all four canonical gospels, Judas betrayed Jesus to the Sanhedrin in the Garden of Gethsemane by kissing him and addressing him as “rabbi” to reveal his identity to the crowd who had come to arrest him. His name is often used synonymously with betrayal or treason.”

Absalom was setup by his fathers main man,

2Samuel 17 everything the enemy can and will do has already been expose – read the word of God, you will know his every more!

“1 Moreover Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Let me now choose out twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue after David this night:

2 And I will come upon him while he is weary and weak handed, and will make him afraid: and all the people that are with him shall flee; and I will smite the king only:

3 And I will bring back all the people unto thee: the man whom thou seekest is as if all returned: so all the people shall be in peace.

4 And the saying pleased Absalom well, and all the elders of Israel.”
