Overcoming By The Word of God
Proverbs 4:20 declares: “give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes: Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them. And health to all their flesh.”
First, we must fill ourselves with the Scriptures. A day does not go by that we do not invest a large portion of time to listening to the Word. We “incline our ear” to God’s sayings. With faith we receive it into our hearts and keep it before our eyes.
The simple outworking of this is that when we receive a bad report from the doctor (or any difficult event in life) we always have the choice to see things through the devil’s perception or to see our situation through the Word of God. One is filled with the life, hope and the healing of the Lord. The other is filled with the discouragement of the enemy. WE CHOOSE TO SEE THINGS THROUGH GOD’S WONDERFUL PROMISES! We keep his Word before our eyes and cast down the lies of the enemy.
We listen to the doctor, but in our hearts, we quickly dismiss his negative report. The choice is ours and we choose life and hope, not death and discouragement. According to God’s Word, He has destroyed the works of the enemy. The power of the devil has been overcome by the death and resurrection of Yeshua. We look upon his wonderful words and in so doing, the power of the enemy is removed from my life and body and replaced by God’s hope and promises.
This simple and powerful choice brings victory to our lives. No matter what the challenge and what the attack of the enemy is in your life- choose to live by God’s Word and let his victory be loosed in your life. A wonderful testimony will result which will touch those around you.
