The Strength of Weakness

Within the balance of life and it’s value of beliefs, we have been taught to be weak is not to be strong. To live in weakness is to live in loss. Fathers teach their children everyday that real men don’t cry, real mean never give up, and real men give all before they die. I disagree with this premiss, disagree because life the reality is that true weakness develops strength.

  • Strength is defined as …> a good or beneficial quality or attribute of a person or thing.
  • Weakness on the other hand is defined as…> a quality or feature regarded as a disadvantage or fault.

With comparative thinking no one in their right mind would choose to be weak when strength defined produces the natural results that favor humanity.

Charles Darwin in his study on of natural selection, concluded that the strongest birds within any environment has a better chance of survival over those who could not adapt because of physical weaknesses and disposition.

This theory is reality to humanity understanding. As you and I know and understand, there is another notion that when defined goes against Darwin and all those enthusiast that suggest one has to be strong physically in order to win in life.

There is a story of a man named Jesus. This man and his disciples go against everything that most suggest when it comes to strength. Even in the Bible God says that he honors tears. In Psalms 56:8 the Bible says, “Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book??

Don’t allow anyone to determine your destiny based on their understanding and not God’s will for your life. the Bible says Lazarus was dead, and at the news the Bible says that Jesus wept. On another occasion a man by the name of Paul became sick in his body. As a Roman he was the man. As a gentile a Christian his trust was no longer in himself but in the power of Gods word. Paul realized that in his weakness God’s will and word was made strong.

In Zachariah 4:6 God tells those who return from exile as a reminder, “6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.”

In closing there are many according to the worlds standard do not have what it takes to be the man. But when it comes to the things of God, they don’t need to be the man but simply need to adopt through obedience what it is God has for their lives. Mans strength equals pride, Gods strength causes humility.
