1 Peter 5:10

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

Do you have the endurance to continue on through the suffering, with trust and faith that God has already made a way?

Perseverance in faith. That’s all he really requires of us.

He is a God of all grace; we are given new mercies every single day, we are comforted in him through every experience we face (2 Corinthians 1:3-5), meaning that we do not need to search this world for comfort, we are comforted of God. We have been called unto his eternal glory, through love, to know Him and to live with him forever in the kingdom of heaven, made possible through the sacrifice of his son Jesus who died for our sins while we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8). He brought us out of the darkness and into his marvelous light to be kingdom builders, to produce fruit of the Spirit, and to be the light of the world, set upon a hill that cannot be hid (1 Peter 2:9, Galatians 5:22-23, Matthew 5:14).

After we have suffered a while…this is inevitable, yet we must count it all joy because the trying of our faith works patience, and patience will have her perfect work in us making us complete and lacking nothing (James 1:2-4). Endurance. Perseverance. Can we stand firm on the word through our suffering, knowing that we are being made perfect through the process? Additionally (as if being made perfect isn’t enough), this suffering will also establish us, make us strong, and settle us. In his perfect timing, according to his perfect will. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above (James 1:17). So let us acknowledge God as our shepherd, wanting nothing (Psalm 23) so that he may have his perfect work in us.
