Thirst for Everlasting Life

Written by: Jane Gray

In this world we thirst for many meaningless things, we desire to be identified as someone famous, successful or even a Legend. We conform to the worlds false perception of unless we are well known and spoken of as someone important, we’re irrelevant.

We become so obsessed with wealth and our tangible possessions, and it doesn’t matter how huge our bank accounts become, it’s never enough, we continue to thirst for more and more until we’re completely consumed, which causes us to lose sight of Gods will and his purpose for our lives.

Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul. In all our accomplishments we must put God at the forefront and stay focus on his purpose, which is to redeem back to our original desire state and to spend eternity with him.

We thirst for happiness, love, and affection, we put unrealistic expectations on our spouses, friends, and family, not realizing apart from a relationship God we’ll always stay in a state of dehydration and emptiness, because man can never quench the thirst of the soul, it’s just not possible.

Consider Jesus with the Samaritan woman at the well, John 4:13-14: Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. (Who wouldn’t want a drink of that water).

As servants of God, we should stay thirsty for his word, and the Holy Spirit that dwells in us will lead and direct us. All believers should stay thirsty and eager to build Gods Kingdom, by seeking the opportunity to tell of his goodness to lost dehydrated souls. And we must keep our glasses full by studying and meditating on the word of God because we can not pour from an empty glass.

Stay encouraged and continue to trust God The Everlasting Thirst Quencher.
