Witnesses of the Promise

Written By,

Robert Johnson

To everything of God there is a witness to verify what is spoken from the beginning heard and seen. The past is the prophetic voice of God, the now is the witness that confirms what was written in the word of God. “Call your witness” the man Jesus Christ who fulfilled what was written in Gods word, nothing else.

Isaiah 55:11 King James Version (KJV)

11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

  • The prophetic voice

Isaiah 9:6 King James Version (KJV)

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

  • The confirmation of the prophetic

Matthew 1:21 King James Version (KJV)

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins

The teaching of God’s mysteries unfold the truth of God’s word removing the ability to return void, increasing the faith of those that believe in His name.

I always ask myself why when Jesus was questioned, are you the “King of the Jews,” he only reply’s, “you said.” It’s amazing that he did not answer for himself.

When John is in prison he sends word to Jesus and ask, “are you the one or should we look for another.” Jesus sends word back to John – Tell John

Matthews 11 –

“4 Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:

5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

6 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.”

These are not random words just to encourage John – they are prophetic because they are spoken before Johns current situation.

Please consider

Isaiah 35Jesus can only witness that which is written

“3 Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.

4 Say to them that are of a fearful heart, (John) Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.

5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.

6 Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.

7 And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.”

Consider the text below – John 1

“1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.

14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Verse 14 denotes Jesus as God’s voice his word could only live as a man that which was written before the foundation of the world.

You may ask what does mean to the church today – we are born a new or again in the image of Christ – 2 Corinthians 5:17

This image of a new birth receives the spirit and power of God through the gospel. We then like Jesus are born a new to become witnesses of the same word that Jesus lived.

The Book of Acts 1:8

“8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

The Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 3 makes the claim that the image of God in the Believer is the word of God – making us “Living Epistles.”

In Conclusion, the Apostle in the 3rd chapter of Corinthians states – Versus 4-6

4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:

5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
