Within Gods love and provision based on covenant promise, the word of God through the spirit guarantees Covenant protection. There is one thing that we as the body must be aware of and that is the enemy. The Bible state in 1 Peter 5:8 msg
1 Peter 5:8-11 The Message (MSG)
8-11 Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up. You’re not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It’s the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won’t last forever. It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does.

The enemy has (3) three places that he seek to attack of those who are not aware of
1 Peter 5:8 KJV
Place 1 The mind – Why would the enemy desire your mind?
- The mind is the battle ground, it is the place where the spirit of God speaks. It also is the place the enemy desires to remove one from God.
- The apostle Paul says here that our job in this battle is to “destroy strongholds.” You know what a stronghold is? It is a mental block. Paul is talking about pretentions, arguments set up against the knowledge of God. This is a mental battle. And he says, “Destroy these strongholds.” A stronghold can be one of two things:
- It can be a worldview, such as materialism, hedonism, Darwinism, secularism, relativism, communism, atheism. All of the different -isms are mental strongholds that people set up against the knowledge of God.
- A stronghold can also be a personal attitude. Worry can be a stronghold. Seeking the approval of other people can be a stronghold. Anything that you make an idol in your life can be a stronghold — fear, guilt, resentment, insecurity. All of these things can be strongholds in your mind. And the Bible says that we are to tear them down.
- The enemy operates when we don’t realize he is at work, when we are not aware. – “The mind”
Place 2 – “The heart“
- The Bible in Proverbs 4:23 (KJV)
23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
- The heart of life are the emotions of truth. For out of the abundance of the heart the (mouth) will speak causing death or life.
- In the Old Testament the word “heart” is used more than 800 times, but more than 200 times it deals with the thought life, the emotions, the wellsprings of life, those things that motivate and mold us. The Bible calls that the heart. I’m calling it the thought life.
- Why is the thought life so important? Why did Solomon tell his son, “above all else, guard your heart; for out of it are the issues of life?” Because the thought life controls the rest of your life.
- If you tell me what you think, I’ll tell you who you are and the life you live. What you think is what you are. The thought life controls you. “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7).
- Your thoughts—positive, negative, good, or bad—control your attitudes. Your attitudes are the sum total of your thoughts. Your attitudes lead to your actions.
Your thoughts control your actions – thus he’s who mind is stay on him:the word of God – that word will keep him in perfect peace because he trust in him.
What ever the mind gives attention the emotions of the heart becomes its reality.
Place 3 – “The mouth”

- “21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
The emotions of your heart will cause the mouth to curse or to bless all because of the state of one’s mind. Are you starting to see where it all begins with the mind and understand why Paul states for the believer to have the mind of Christ. ” Let this mind be in you Which was also in Christ Jesus.

Point 1 Luke 22:42-44 The Message (MSG)
41-44 He pulled away from them about a stone’s throw, knelt down, and prayed, “Father, remove this cup from me. But please, not what I want. What do you want?” At once an angel from heaven was at his side, strengthening him. He prayed on all the harder. Sweat, wrung from him like drops of blood, poured off his face.
Christ is in distress, he is fatigue, he’s tired. His mind is on one thing, as a man he knew he had to die. His heart is going threw the emotions of what death might feel like. His mouth forgets Isaiah 53:10 KJV that this was pleasing God. His mouth begins to confess the emotions of his heart. I know I was sent here to be and offering but if it be thy will take away this cup, let death pass from me. I know Revelations 5:1-7 KJV states I’m the only one that can do it. Father are you sure there is not another.
When you and I are under this type of attack – there is only one thing that we can do that will realign our lives back up with Gods will, pray!
Jesus prayed to the father – James 5:16 King James Version (KJV)
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Prayer to God will produce his will and not our hearts desires.
Luke 22:42 King James Version (KJV)
42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
