If you will examine a very well know passage of scripture – 2 Chronicles Chapter 7
Most take this text and focus on chapter 7 verse 14 KJV You might ask why can’t I use this one verse to build my message, you can but we must remember what Jesus told the religious leaders in the “Gospel according” to St John 5:39 KJV which states – verse 38/39
38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
*********39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.************* Jesus Christ is the central theme of Gods book in-which Christ came as the volume – wrapped in the Fathers spirit
Allow us together to view those verses before verse 14!!!
But before we go there let us look at the word of God for our witness, “Jesus everywhere.”
St John 5:38- 39 KJV 👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾
38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
As we transition to 2 Chronicles 7:1-14 KJV WE MUST FIND JESUS/GODS PROPHETIC WORD IN THE TEXT –
2 Chronicles 7:1-14 KJV – Throughout the Law there is the narrative of a coming savior a risen King
Allow us to look at Isaiah 9:6-7 KJV – a mate to ST John 5:39 KJV
Isaiah 9:6-7 KJV
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Please note verse 7 – I’m trying to transition but the spirit is pushing to use Gods word as it’s own witness “Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, Pt2 and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever – The throne of of Jesus will be the opposite of His earthy fathers David/It is eternal!
2 Samuel 7:16 KJV below is so amazing it speaks of heaven and earth through David/Jesus
12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. Revelations 5 speaks of Jesus as the spiritual offspring of David not the physical offspring of Solomon!
14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:
13 He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.
15 But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.
16 And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.
17 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
Now we can go to 2 Chronicles chapter 7 understanding that there is a prophetic order of a future tense event to where all those who come to Christ through the sovereign will of God will be healed but there must be a transition that we see in verses one through 12 verses 13-14 shows that there is one sovereign God through Christ Jesus where power is in His name can heal all manners of diseases and Seth at liberty those who are captive of demonic power.
{THE POWER OF GOD} 13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Jesus everywhere The power of God – 👇🏾
1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house.
In order for verse 13-14 to be fulfilled they must come under Grace and not the Law – the prophetic voice of God here will not except atonement because the work in the text prophetically is done by the Holy Spirit!!! This text can’t not be taught under or preached under the Law!!!
Consider verse 1 Solomon had made end of prayer – under the Law it would have been the Priest! David called for the Ephod and Priest The same with the other kings like Jehoshaphat – there is shift taking place – Salvation appeared before the cross – the cross was the witness to what was spoken in the beginning –
2 And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD’S house. 👏👏👏 the Holy Spirit did not need the priest the spirit/Word of God Jesus was setting up the new order –
3 And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever. We have a problem the text is making spiritual reference backward as though Christ the hope of glory has already come. Are not these people not to atone – wait but they – “And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.”
Wait please let’s go to Acts chapter 2 :2-3,6,11 KJV
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
Back to 2 Chronicles 7
4 Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the LORD.
Now after God through the spirit expressed His sovereignty now like David in Psalms 51:18-19 now the people must honor God through atonement
5 And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep: so the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.
6 And the priests waited on their offices: the Levites also with instruments of musick of the LORD, which David the king had made to praise the LORD, because his mercy endureth for ever, when David praised by their ministry; and the priests sounded trumpets before them, and all Israel stood.
7 Moreover Solomon hallowed the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the brasen altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt offerings, and the meat offerings, and the fat.
8 Also at the same time Solomon kept the feast seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt.
9 And in the eighth day they made a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days.
10 And on the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away into their tents, glad and merry in heart for the goodness that the LORD had shewed unto David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people.
11 Thus Solomon finished the house of the LORD, and the king’s house: and all that came into Solomon’s heart to make in the house of the LORD, and in his own house, he prosperously effected.
12 And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.
Now as in the case of Job to wear revelation of the prophetic mysteries of God has been revealed GOD through His word advises generations of His blessing plan through the name of Jesus and His power 👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾
