Who let the dogs out?

To be consumed by life, by the thought of non-existence or wondering where I fit. When you feel moved, you have strong feelings of sadness or sympathy because of some moving situation, something touching, heart-rending, a situation which clearly stirs something inside, which arouses emotions – times where one expresses, “I feel like a dog. This brings me to our subject, “Who let the dogs out?

To bring the understanding here to light, we must examine the Bible’s reference to a dog – As the dog was an unclean animal, the terms “dog,” “dead dog,” were used as terms of reproach or of humiliation ( 1 Samuel 24:14 ; 2 Sam 3:8 ; 9:8 ; 16:9 ).

Paul calls false apostles “dogs” (Phil 3:2 ). Those who are shut out of the kingdom of heaven are also so designated ( Revelation 22:15 ). Persecutors are called “dogs” ( Psalms 22:16 ). Hazael’s words, “Thy servant which is but a dog” ( 2 Kings 8:13 ), are spoken in mock humility=impossible that one so contemptible as he should attain to such power.

So then, dog was used as a term of humiliation meaning an animal without value – I feel a praise in my spirit“Who let the dogs out?”

So then, a dog was one without a place, master, or home – he was looked as an animal without a home – “Who let the dogs out?”

We see this in the Bible, anyone that was not a Jew was an unclean Gentile/dog without a father or a place – but what the Jew did not know because of their disobedience someone was about to let the dogs out

A dog in nature of loyal he will serve his master if it means his own life – a dog at times is called, “mans best friend.” When everybody else turns and walks away a dog will stand by his master – it is said when a man dies a dog will follow the body to the grave yard and just lay next to his master because he is loyal – “can I get a witness.” I dog will stay when you tell him to go, he won’t leave his Masters side –

Jesus himself called the Canaanite women a dog. Jesus was a Jew, this is why Peter had a problem with Gentiles/dogs – you must understand as a Prophet Jesus was sent to restore the house of Israel but as God’s sacrifice his blood was to restore the world –

This is why we read – John 10:16 KJV

“16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.” “Who let the dogs out”

Allow me to call the three witness of one fold –

  • 1 – Come here Moses – Moses would be used by God to redeem His people from the hand of the Egyptians – In Moses messages the word of God influenced some Egyptians/dogs/Gentiles – In Exod 12:38, we read that when the Israelites left Egypt, a mixed multitude. Some scholars say that 80,000 Egyptian lepers and some diseased people joined Moses and Israel –

God was working things after the counsel of His own will – now we see Revelations 1:8 KJV in Action – “8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”

In the life of Moses we find Jesus , Moses brings Gentiles/dogs out of Egypt – We see the blood on the door post that represents Christ on the cross –

Allow us to call our next witness, one by the name of Jesus Christ – He completes the mission given to Moses restoration of Israel –

Turn with us to Matthew 15 KJV 👇🏾

JESUS comes in contact with a Gentiles/dog –

Please read the text – “you will see who let the dogs out.”

21 Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.

22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.

23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.

24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

It reminds me when Elijah told Elisha no you can’t go with me on this journey but Elisha went anyway –

26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.

27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.

28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

Faith here then becomes the door even for the Gentiles – it is no longer being a Jew it not is faith – This means when the promise comes, the Gentiles/dogs will receive and invitation as well

The promise must be given to the Jew first then offered to the world/Gentiles/Dogs –

Romans 1:16 NIV

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.”

In Acts 2 the day of Pentecost there are Jews in the upper room who receive the promise first! Gentiles are aware but scripture must be fulfilled – 👆🏾Romans 1:16 KJV

If this is the case and there were no dogs in Acts 2 and Gentiles/dogs are made the promise of being freed/let out from the curse of sin – we must be able to reference! “Who let the dogs out”

Romans 11:17 KJV Now we know, “Who let the dogs out.”

If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root”

The opining of the cage of sins door Cornelius and the pack of wild dogs!

Go with us to Acts 10 chapter

24 And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.

25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.

26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

This would have never happened before – God’s word is being fulfilled – yes yes

27 And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.

A pack of dogs/Gentiles had come together –

Remember in Matthew 15, what did the women say to Christ? “Even the dogs desire the crumbs that fall from the masters table –

28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

29 Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?

30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

31 And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

32 Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.

33 Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.

34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all🙂

37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:

40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;

41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.

42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.

43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

I’m going to close with this question – “Who let the dogs/Gentiles out?”

The Old Covenant was the physical shadow of what would take place in Acts 2, first Jews then Gentiles fulfilling Joel 2:28-29
